Policies
Please take the time to read this document in its entirety as it contains very important information that is required for your pup’s stay with us. We have a 3-strike system in place to help implement these policies. You will receive 3 warnings when breaking a policy before your pup is dismissed from our services for up to one year.
Booking Procedures
-
To streamline the process, enhance your experience, and eliminate complications, all bookings must be made using our convenient booking software for all reservations.
-
All bookings must be paid in full through the parent portal during the booking process using a debit or credit card. We no longer accept cash payments. However, we will accept cashapp and ApplePay payments. Bookings that are requested but not paid for by 11:59 pm the night of the request will be automatically canceled.
-
Pawjama Pawties that are booked after 6 pm the night before the service or that are booked the same day of the service will be charged a $20 last-minute booking fee.
-
To avoid misuse of our play passes, pup parents are required to book at least one additional day of daycare to use a Thursday Play Pass.
We implement this policy to ensure that our availability remains open to other clients. We also would like to avoid inactive bookings, minimizing any wait times for our other pup parents. Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to make exceptions to this policy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a smooth transaction.

Health Requirements
-
All pups entering Pups ‘N Us must be in overall good health with no notable diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, sneezing, coughing, open wounds, or stitches.
-
All pups entering Pups ‘N Us must be fully vaccinated and up to date on all required vaccinations.
-
Here is a list of our required vaccinations:
-
Parvo and Distemper: These vaccinations may appear on pup’s records as just that, or in a combo shot such as DHPP or DHLPP. These shots cover canine distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. 1 or 3-year vaccine accepted.
-
Rabies: The rabies vaccine is required by law in many states. This vaccine is initially injected as a single dose, with a booster every 1-3 years, depending on the area.
-
Canine Influenza (H3N8 and H3N2): Also known as "dog flu”. Vaccinating for both virus strains is recommended.
-
Bordetella: Also known as kennel cough. It is usually given as a single dose and then repeated every 6-12 months. There are three ways of administering the Bordetella vaccine: intranasal (in the nose), intravenous (by shot), and oral (in the mouth).
Pup parents must wait 7 days after vaccines are given before booking a service with us to ensure pup is protected. If a pup’s vaccinations are expiring, updated proof of vaccinations must be uploaded to the parent portal within 30 days of the expiration date to continue booking services with us. Petco offers a mobile pet clinic throughout the week called Vetco. It is maintained by licensed vets and their assistants who administer vaccinations and perform wellness examinations to pups of all ages, so parents still receive professional care at a lower cost. We reserve the right to deny services until updated shot records can be provided. This policy is in place to keep everyone safe and healthy.

-
All pups must have had a negative fecal exam within 12 months before entering for services.
-
All pups must be under a continuous flea and tick prevention plan during their time with us.
-
We recommend all pups be under a heartworm prevention plan.
-
Pups 7 months and older must be spayed or neutered. To maintain the comfort and safety of all our pups, we do not accept any pups who are in heat. NO EXCEPTIONS!
-
New pups should be in their home for at least 30 days to get comfortable in their new surroundings before any daycare or boarding service as too many new transitions can add tons of stress and anxiety to them.
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
We are open 7 days a week, including holidays.
-
Pups attending daycare must be dropped off between the hours of 6 am and 10 am. They must be picked up between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm. We are closed for lunch from 12 pm to 2 pm.
-
Pup parents who are booked for daycare service must complete a check-in form each morning of their scheduled service. All questions must be completed before pups can be checked in for care.
-
Pup Parents must adhere to the booking times that were made during the booking process. If the booking is supposed to end at 3 pm, please make sure your pup is picked up at 3 pm or inform us of any changes as soon as possible. Timeliness is important for the smooth operation of our services.
-
For everyone’s safety and comfort, pups must arrive on a leash, or they will not be able to enter. It is extremely important that we have some sort of control over all pups entering and exiting for safety.
-
Pups must have some sort of identification tag during their stay. This tag must include their name and a current phone number for contact. They must also be microchipped and have a fully functional air tag attached to their collar. We are very cautious and supervise all our pups, however, we always like to be prepared for the unknown.
-
All pups are required to wear breakaway collars during their stay which are specifically designed to release in case a pup was to accidentally become stuck on another pup or something else during play. These collars will break away reducing the risk of injury. These collars will be given to pups during drop off and replaced with their original collars during pick up.
-
Please remove any prongs or choke collars prior to checking your pup in. For the safety of everyone, we do not permit pups to wear these types of collars while in our care. We recommend that all pups have a harness for their walks. Harnesses tend to fasten more securely around pup’s body which can prevent throat damage and accidents like a pup slipping out and running off.
-
We kindly ask that all pup parents who have a pup with us inform us when they are at least 5 minutes away from our location during both drop-off and pick-up. This allows us time to prepare pups for their departure and ensure the comfort and safety of all our other paw pals while keeping wait times short. Advance notice helps us to manage our pup's care safely and seamlessly. We also ask that all pup parents communicate when they are running late or even early. We would like to maintain a structured environment.
-
Pup parents must properly wear a mask if they are entering our pup playroom or dropping off/picking up at our door. We offer curbside pick-up/drop-off as an alternative, where one of our team members will come out to the car to retrieve/hand off the pup.
We grant our pup parents a 15-minute grace period to pick up their pup after business hours. Pups not picked up within 15 minutes of the close of business will be charged a late fee of $15. A late fee will be applied for every hour a pup is still with us after hours. Early drop-offs are available 15 minutes prior to the opening of business for an additional fee of $10. Early pick up and drop off are free for daycare memberships only.
Before Pup’s Stay
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay for all our paw pals, please revisit this checklist weekly:
-
Have pup’s nails clipped and trimmed to avoid injuries during playtime. Pup’s nails can get caught on fabric if they’re too long causing them to panic and pull away which in turn can lead to damage to their nail and paws. We are also extremely active and involve all pups, children included. We don’t want our paw pals or our humans to get hurt.
-
Groom pups before their stay. Our pup’s health is our top priority. Brushing their fur/hair daily and caring for their teeth can improve their health and their overall mood. A professional groomer can be used every 4 weeks or pup parents can give them a nice bath and brush at home. It’s important that all our paw pals stay clean and healthy.
-
We have all the things our paw pals will need for their stay already on hand. However, if pup parents would like to pack some of pup’s favorite toys and treats, it is welcomed. All items will be placed in their personal cubby labeled with their name and picture. We are not responsible for any damaged items.
-
Pup parents must provide food based on their pup’s eating habits at home. This includes things that are added to their meals like rice, gravy, etc. Food dispensers are on hand that can be used to store our paw pal’s dry food in bulk. We also have a mini fridge specifically for our pups with wet meals. Most of our pup parents find this to be extremely convenient as they don’t have to worry about packing their pup’s food daily. However, if you are a pup parent who prefers to pack their pup’s meals, please portion pup’s meals in baggies. If a pup eats ½ cup of food 3 times a day, please provide ½ cup of their food portioned into 3 different baggies to make mealtime easier and to prevent over or underfeeding.
-
We recommend that pup parents leave their pup's bowls at home. We supply stainless steel bowls to all our paw pals free of charge. Steel is the safest type of pet bowl to use as it is much easier to clean and doesn't hold on to bad bacteria. This type of material does not hold on to potentially dangerous chemicals that can combine with your pup's food and water making them extremely sick. We prefer to use these bowls to keep your pup safe and healthy as opposed to using plastic, glass, or ceramic bowls.
-
Pups who are still learning where to go potty must arrive every day with pee pads.
-
Pups who let out pee during excitement or who mark their territory must arrive with waistbands/pampers for pups.
-
To avoid the risk of encountering fleas, ticks, and possibly bed bugs we do not accept bedding, blankets, towels, or clothing items. Every pup is provided with fresh laundered hypoallergenic beds.
All pup’s will have their own personal cubby labeled with their name and picture to store all their items. However, it is crucial that pup parents label all their pup's belongings.
Pup Files and Parent Portal
The completion of the new client questionnaire helped create a pup file for our paw pals as well as a basic profile for our pup parents. This information is essential for tracking health records, diet, medication, preferences, behavior, and contact. Every six months, pup parents will be required to update their pup’s file and their pup portal with a less lengthy questionnaire to help us continue to provide the best care tailored to each of our guests.
